12V 200Ah Deep Cycle LiFePO4 Battery

Product Overview

A 2.56kWh deep cycle LiFePO4 battery (12.8V 200Ah) — the workhorse size for RV house banks, marine auxiliary power, off-grid cabins and mobile power systems. Double the usable energy of a 100Ah unit in a single drop-in 12V package, so one battery replaces two paralleled 100Ah units with simpler wiring and a single BMS.

For distributors, RV dealers and installers, the 12V 200Ah format is the sweet spot between capacity and handling: enough energy for serious off-grid use, still a one-person lift. As a China-based LiFePO4 battery supplier and OEM/ODM coordination partner, LJY Energy works with qualified manufacturing partners to configure capacity, enclosure, BMS features and branding to your market requirements. Why LiFePO4 for 12V Deep Cycle Use

A 200Ah lead-acid battery delivers only about 100Ah of usable energy (50% depth of discharge limit) and weighs roughly twice as much. This LiFePO4 unit delivers the full 200Ah at 80–100% depth of discharge, thousands of cycles instead of hundreds, and charges far faster. Our LiFePO4 vs lead-acid comparison works through the 10-year economics, and the battery safety guide covers safe installation in vehicles and boats.

Charging & Compatibility

Typical charge profile: bulk/absorption at 14.2–14.6V, then termination — LiFePO4 needs no float stage. Our charging voltage reference lists the exact 12V setpoints, and the complete charging guide explains CC/CV operation.

  • Solar / MPPT: set absorption to 14.2–14.6V; disable equalization (a lead-acid routine that can trigger BMS high-voltage protection).
  • Vehicle alternator: use a DC-DC charger with a lithium profile — direct alternator charging risks overcurrent and uncontrolled voltage.
  • Shore / AC charging: use a LiFePO4-profile charger; lead-acid chargers with desulfation pulses (15.3–15.8V) can trip the BMS.
  • Existing lead-acid charger: generally not recommended — see the compatibility notes in our charging knowledge hub.

If the battery ever refuses to charge, work through our troubleshooting guide before assuming a fault.

Battery Lifespan

Cycle aging and calendar aging together determine real life. Typical reference for quality LiFePO4 cells: around 6,000 cycles at 80% depth of discharge (25°C, to 80% capacity retention) at cell level — pack results depend on BMS, thermal design and usage. Running daily at 80% DoD roughly doubles cycle life versus 100% DoD while sacrificing only 20% of per-cycle capacity. Our DoD vs cycle life guide explains the throughput economics, and should you charge to 100% covers the practical charge strategy (daily 80–90%, periodic full charges for BMS recalibration).

Sizing & Selection

One 2.56kWh unit runs a typical RV’s 12V loads (lighting, water pump, fridge, fans, device charging) for a full day off-grid; two units cover heavier use including inverters for AC appliances. Size from daily kWh consumption and desired autonomy days. Dealers: confirm the continuous discharge rating against the customer’s largest load (inverter surge especially) at the quoting stage — and check our RV dealer buying guide for stocking and support guidance.

Applications

  • RV and caravan house battery banks
  • Marine auxiliary and trolling power
  • Off-grid cabins and tiny homes
  • Van-life and overland builds
  • Mobile workshops and field equipment
  • Backup power for 12V systems

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I replace my lead-acid battery directly?

Physically yes in most cases, but check three things: charger profile (lead-acid chargers with desulfation pulses are incompatible), alternator charging (needs a DC-DC charger with lithium profile), and battery box dimensions. See our lead-acid replacement guide.

What charging voltage should I set?

Typical bulk/absorption is 14.2–14.6V for the 4S system, with no float stage. See our charging voltage chart for the full reference.

Can I connect batteries in series or parallel?

Series (e.g., 4S for 48V) and parallel expansion are supported subject to configuration. Confirm the maximum series/parallel count for your order before designing the bank.

How long will it last?

Lifespan depends on depth of discharge, temperature and usage pattern. Quality LiFePO4 cells are typically rated around 6,000 cycles at 80% DoD (cell level); real pack life varies. Our lifespan guide explains the key variables.

Is it safe inside an RV or boat?

LiFePO4 is the most thermally stable mainstream lithium chemistry, but safety is a system property — correct installation, fusing, ventilation and BMS protection all matter. See our safety guide.

How is this different from the LCD steel-case 200Ah model?

This is the standard general-purpose 12V 200Ah deep cycle battery. Our LCD steel-case variant adds a built-in display and rugged steel enclosure for applications where on-battery monitoring matters. Contact us if you are unsure which fits your project.
