OEM/ODM LiFePO4 RFQ Checklist: Fields That Make Quotes Comparable

Ask five LiFePO4 OEM/ODM suppliers for “a custom pack” and you will get five quotes that cannot be compared. One assumes a different cell brand, another a different BMS continuous rating, another a different certificate scope. An OEM RFQ works when every supplier answers the same field map in writing.

General procurement guidance as of 31 October 2026. Not legal, certification or engineering advice. Market rules and certificates depend on product, channel and destination country.

Short answer

  • Start with five lines: application and duty cycle, nominal voltage, capacity/energy (Ah and kWh), target markets, and annual volume band.
  • Mark every other line Required / Preferred / Open (advise me). A supplier that flags what it cannot confirm is more useful than one that leaves blanks.
  • Use the full A–M checklist on our OEM/ODM page (or the printable PDF) before samples.
  • Keep supplier vetting separate from custom-spec RFQ: see how to verify a China LiFePO4 supplier.

Who this checklist is for

Wholesale importers, brand owners, equipment OEMs, ESS integrators, distributors and installers who need a private-label or project-confirmed LiFePO4 pack — not a one-line “send quote” email. If you only need a catalogue model, start from the product catalog or a standard page such as the 51.2V 200Ah (10.24kWh).

Five fields that unlock a first reply

FieldWhat to writeWhy it matters
Application & duty cycleGolf cart, RV house bank, marine, telecom, home ESS, AGV; cycles/daySets cell choice, BMS settings and warranty basis
Nominal voltage12.8 / 25.6 / 51.2 V (48V class) or otherMust match equipment and charger voltage window
Capacity / energyAh and Wh/kWhAh alone hides voltage; usable energy depends on DoD
Target marketsEvery country of saleDrives certificates, labelling and languages
Annual volume bandBand is enough (e.g. pilot then yearly range)Lets the supplier plan cells and quote tiers

LJY Energy is a China-based LiFePO4 battery supplier and OEM/ODM solutions provider. Certificates are available or arranged per project; testing and certification fees are borne by the buyer. MOQ, price, lead time and warranty length are confirmed in the quotation — not as public list claims on this page.

Common RFQ mistakes that force a re-quote

  • “Grade A cells” with no brand/model — write measurable criteria or a named cell model (see Grade A vs Grade B).
  • Brand-level inverter “compatible with X” — closed-loop needs exact model + firmware + protocol, confirmed per project.
  • Ah without Wh/kWh or voltage — two “100Ah” packs at different voltages are not comparable.
  • Mixing supplier vetting with custom-spec — use the verify guide for who produces and which documents; use A–M for the pack you want built.
