Lithium batteries are classified as dangerous goods for transport. Key points:
- UN38.3 testing is required for air and sea shipment of lithium batteries.
- Never charge LiFePO4 below 0°C (32°F).
- Use chargers with a lithium/LiFePO4 profile — not lead-acid equalization modes.
- Ensure the BMS matches your application’s current requirements.
- Store batteries in a cool, dry place at partial charge for long-term storage.
